Hi!
Just thought I give you all a quick hello.
Thanks to MrSheen for shooting me an e-mail about dead links to some old mashups - you can now access all of them again... I HOPE!!
Also, an update with the Mattman/Michael Jackson - Thrilled album, someone put up the album as a torrent. Unfortunately my name isn't all over it, but it has the album covers etc attached. Have a looksie here.
Boom
Baby! I'm back! ... kinda.
Let
me fast forward a few days, weeks and months.
Now
we have were we are currently sitting.
Lots
to catch up on... so here's the 4-1-1.
*
I've altered the download listing so you don't get all
the extra pop-up windows. All you have to do now is right
click whatever link is working and download the mashup
to your harddrive. Except for the Michael Jackson - Thrilled
album. That's still the same.
*
Mashups have been categorised in year order on which I've
roughly made them. This is also a personal record for
me as I can roughly seen how much I've "learnt"
since my "that mashup is shit" to "yeah,
it's okay.. you've improved" eras. Big example is
Fatboy Slim V Aqua. I hate it. But I leave it on there
as it was the first time I used Mixmeister to mash a song.
*
If the mp3 link isn't there, that means I'm working on
it - or I've uploaded it on Youtube. So you may find a
song here that I haven't Youtubed, or a song on Youtube
that I haven't mp3ed on here. I'm currently working on
that process.
*
To see my mashups on Youtube, search for mattman1981
and you shall find :)
Any
problems or you just want to holler at me and say how
shit my stuff is, feel free to - wirelessfodder

I've
had some recent culling done lately with my music clips
on Youtube and I've had to resort in deleting a few. So
if a few clips come up invalid, I've removed them.
Back
to reality - I've tinkered around AGAIN with Kat DeLuna's
track Whine Up, and made it dancey - how it should be.
Shame on me for destroying AC/DC. Remember Royal Gigalos
and their remix of California Dreamin' by Mamas
& the Papas? Of course you do. I've done what
I think a wicked mashup of them both, and adding a touch
of Benny Benassi.
Slam
it on your mp3 player! (I refuse to call all mp3 players
ipods until someone gives me a working itouch for free.)
I
find this odd. Only a few weeks ago I had a brain melt
and didn't have any creativity in me to make some more
mashups. I mean, I was constantly thinking of ideas, but
none of them worked or I was too pre-occupied with other
work.
Today,
being Good Friday, and having the next few days off work,
I sat down and decided to make something. But I wanted
to venture away from a current pop hit or anything like
that, so I stepped back into the retro era and popped
out a 'retro' mashup.
Bachman
Turner Overdrive (BTO) Taking
Care Of Business has been a firm favourite of mine
because of the great beat that goes with it. It makes
me want to stomp my feet on the ground with the beat which
is so addictive. B-52's Love
Shack is the classic disco / dance / party song that
you either hate to love or love to hate. Either way it's
a win-win situation for B-52's.
Enjoy
my first 'retro' mashup!
By
the way - if this page layout looks wonky IE this news
area ends up being pushed to the bottom of the page, let
me know and I'll try fix it.
If
you celebrate it - here's an Easter pressie for you.
Stay
off the chocolate
Seriously,
I have a new mashie for you.
Kat
DeLuna's track "Whine
Up" has been annoying the absolute fuck out of
me, and it's just been a moderate success around the globe.
On the way to work, I hear a mashup sample on one of Party
Ben's vintage Sixx Mixxes which played AC/DC's "You
Shook Me All Night Long" and Missy Elliot's "Lose
Control". It's one of my favourites, so here's
my tribute to that mashup.
In
the usual spot peoples... to the right --->
First
of all - slightly new layout. This should be easier to
read and on the eyes. If not, tough titties.
Second
of all - I've caved in to advertising. The Thrilled
project was slightly more successful than I thought and
it's eaten away at the cost of my hosting. I've made the
affiliate relevant to the site. Buy your moozac from these
guys! Sanity. It'll help me muchly. I make nuffin' off
these mashups, and I don't intend to. I just need to keep
the site running for storage.
Third
of all - I've been quite the busy bee working on some
side projects which hasn't left me time to make more mashups.
I'll get my head screwed on eventually and come out with
more.
After
a much needed rest and the hype from the Thrilled
experience has finally calm down (especially my bandwidth),
I've managed to get back into my mashie mode with different
ideas.
So
far I've managed to spit out one. Rihanna Vs OneRepublic.
See when you apologise for being unfaithful. In the usual
spot to the right.
Thrilled
Update 6: The response to Thrilled has
been amazing. First, let me get more shout-outs out of
the way to MJJSource.
If you have posted any linkage, or you have seen it elsewhere
- email me wirelessfodder at gmail dot com
so I can credit you and give thanks to everyone who is
involved.
AIRPLAY!!
Mashup Track #1 on the Thrilled album - Wanna
Be Startin' Somethin' - has already been heard on
radio - HOT91's
weekday night show with Bevo, on the beautiful Sunshine
Coast - QLD Australia. You can listen to the station online
if you're not in the area. Send them an e-mail to hear
more of the mashup!!
BONUS
TIME!
For the hardcore fans - I'll give you
access to a bonus 7 minute mega-mash, consisting of a
few selected Michael Jackson songs only. This is not available
on the Thrilled page, nor the complete album
download. Don't worry - I'm not harvesting e-mails or
anything else. I just think it'll be fun to chat to you
1-on-1.
Intrigued?
Shoot me an e-mail! I won't bite!!
Thrilled
Update 5: No more teasing. Saving the best until
last. Thriller is now up and ready! Plus, if
you want higher quality versions, you can download the
entire album. I've had to put it on a file-swapping site
as 90MB is too big to store on my server.
More
hellos to Michael
Jackson Community, and Michael
Jackson Remix. If you see any other sites plugging
away this mashup album, or you just want to tell me how
good or crap the music is, shoot me an e-mail!
I
did a small writeup about Michael, so feel free to make
a comment
here.
Also,
a big thankyou to Lozz who made some more fan art... I
would post it up here but you know why I can't ;)
Thrilled
Update 4: 2 more days left. But now I'm up to
the part which I hate. I'm about to admit there's a track
which I lost sleep over as I hate it so much and was hard
to come up with an idea for. The track being The Lady
In My Life. Because on how slow the tempo and the
style of the key is, I could not find a smooth enough
song to match. I originally was going to turn it into
a dance / boppy song, but it would've ruined the style.
So I decided to keep it lovey dovey and use a song that's
'related' to the theme of it. Even though I have had positive
results from the people I played it to for a test run,
the song gets on my nerves. I'll let you decide on what
you think - hell, you may love it to bits - but I hate
it like how you get popcorn stuck in your teeth.
To
compensate on how much I hate it, I'll make one of my
favourites, PYT (Pretty Young Thing) available
a day early. After that, there's one more song to go!
But you won't get it until .. hmmm.. probably the 11th
of Feb :) Saving the best until last haha.
Also,
a massive shoutout and gratitude goes to BjornClausen
who has kindly (and to much of my relief as I am really
bad at cover art!) produced .. awesome album cover art!
I've attached the artwork to the downloads, so if you
want to re-download them, it'll appear on your music players
now. If you want to view the talents of BC-DATA
more clearly, download the Front
Cover, Back, and CD
label.
Thrilled
Update 3: The countdown is on. 3 more days to
go, and another track is up. Baby Be Mine has
fought its way to be the next track to be savagedly downloaded.
Hope
you're enjoying the mashups so far. I understand one or
two of them many be hit - n - miss, but you can't please
everyone.
More
linkage shouts go to Michael
Jackson France, Michael
Jackson Hungary, and The
King Of Our Heart - Streetwalker. Unfortunately my
foreign language skills are really shit (I only partially
know broken spanish) but I hope you understand my thankyou
for your support. I've had a few requests too VIA e-mail
to make other mashups, which I may consider if I get time
to do so. Will keep you up to date. I'm just waiting for
a marriage proposal! haha.
Not
long now!
Thrilled
Update 2: The list keeps growing bigger, and
the downloads are becoming massive. The downloads have
basically tripled within 24 hours.
Beat It is the next track that's available. If
you have noticed the other mashups I've made, I have already
done an Eminem vs Michael Jackson - Beating Out My Closet
mashup. However, this one for the "Thrilled"
album, you could say it's a version 2.0. If you compare
the two, it's noticeably different as my production skills
have improved since the first mashup. Download and listen
:)
I'm
amazed at how many Michael Jackson fan sites are out there
in various parts of the world. More shout outs to Michael
Jackson Legend and Michackson.
Thrilled
Update: Word is getting around now about "Thrilled"
which I am, no pun intended - thrilled - about. So only
a few more days to go until the 11th of February, and
up goes another track - The Girl Is Mine. Check
it out!
Shout
outs go to Frankster of Frankster's
Audio/Video Archives, Michael
Jackson Repository Forums (MJJR.net), and Foros
Michael Jackson's Hideout.
Gracias
/ thankyou :)
Day
by day more songs are going up for the "Thrilled"
album in time for the actual "Thriller" album
launch. I've already noticed a significant amount of bandwidth
being eaten up. That's gooood! Make sure you spread the
site around and I'll give you more cool stuff to download
and make your ears bleed in a pleasant way! Shoot me an
e-mail too: wirelessfodder at gmail dot com
It's
not too far around the corner now!
Michael
Jackson is re-releasing the classic "Thriller"
album worldwide February 11 2008. So as a treat (and to
test my production skills!) I'm attempting to mashup the
entire album - a la "The
Grey Album" and "American
Edit". Obviously I won't be as good as that,
but Danger Mouse and Party Ben have been inspirations
for a long time. So be prepared for Mattman Jackson -
Thrilled! As a tease, I've upped the odd song ready to
download in the music list on the right side menu.
Stay
tuned.
Welcome
to 2008! Nothing special now is it?
This
new Eminem / Vanilla Ice mashup was inspired by the tour
Vanilla Ice just did around Australia. I only know a handful
of songs by him such as the token "Ice Ice Baby",
the "Ninja Rap" from TMNT, and one of the unknowns
- "Having A Roni". Roni consists of entire beatboxing,
which sounds really cool.
With
"Having A Roni", I used the beatboxing bed with
Eminem's "The Way I Am".. turns out really odd.
Either
way, enjoy!
